sooo.. I wanted to try my hands at video-"tutorial". That translates to "watch me smear around in Photoshop for hours with no clue as to what I'm doing". I remembered that livestream messed up my old PC quite nicely so I did not want to use it. Don't ask me what went wrong, it just did. After a few hours browsing through a couple of forums and trying out screengrab-software + converter + editing software, I've come to the conclusion that that's even worse than Livestream. Don't get me wrong, I love opensource software, but... if the data I produce with one program doesn't work with the next program, then what good is it to me? Nothing, it's a waste of time. Perhaps I just didn't look hard enough, but so far I haven't found a program that does what I want to do. Create a movie of what I'm doing on my cintiq, import and edit it for online-viewing. I don't mind using two seperate softwares to get what I want, but they should work. That's when I went to Livestream, to find it had changed layout and it no longer offers free channels. Say whaaat? Ok. Quick glance at the clock and I now know why I feel all woozy and stupid. I was so absorbed in solving my video-problem that I totally forgot to go to bed. ARGH! I feel a wee bit like my grandmum right now, she wouldn't know what to do with a new TV because she doesn't understand how remotes work. Kind of scary, if you no longer understand Tech - our world depends so much on it that not understanding Tech and software almost equals no longer being able to function.
*ahem* putting one of my personal nightmares aside, I manged to recover my old Livestream-channel.
[link]And if I had the time and opportunity I'd rather learn how to create proper 3D-stuff than video-editing anyway. But I don't have the time! and now if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a certain pillow.
I'll be streaming in a couple of minutes, if you want, join me
Nothing much to see, I'm just doodling and studying and I'll use Livestream to check my workflow. Whenever I have time and feel like it, I'll post it here.
Hopefully you can get some good rest. I can relate since I feel off if I get off my usual schedule of sleep.
Records a screen area you set, and stores the file on the server.
For streaming, and requires more of a time investment I use xsplit: [link] & JTV: [link]
Allows you to directly upload your videos to Youtube too.
